By the way, I noticed you guys are kind of finishing each other's sentences. You are co-CEOs, which is all the rage these days.

Yeah.

It is.

Your firm has-

We're the OGs.

You are the OGs. Your firm has a history of co-CEOs, right?

Yeah. Actually, the baton passed to us was from two individuals that had led for close to 20 years, so we're really kind of like the generation 3.0 of the company, but the co-CEO model is really embedded in the organization. There's over 300 co-leaders at different levels so it's not just at the top.

Yeah, and both of us have been co-leaders throughout our career with others, and it really speaks to not just a co-leadership model, but a truly collaborative model across the firm, so all of our projects are really collaboratively led and all of our teams are collaborative teams. It's a big part of the design ethos that has become a really important part of our culture as well.

We do find, now, that a lot of clients are actually calling us and saying, "Hey, we're thinking of going to a co-model. You guys have been doing it for so long. Can you help us understand how this works and how it could work in our organization?"

Well, you don't need both of you to make a decision. I mean, does it get awkward and redundant at all?

No. In fact, one of the things that's great is Elizabeth, first of all, she's been at the company over 20 years, I've been there over 30 years. We, you know, west coast, east coast and with that, it's a good 24 hour coverage. So both of us, really, we get together on key decisions. Kind of, you know, make sure we're of one voice but at the same time, it is a global platform, global organization, so the ability to, you know, look out at different regions, you know, for the 10 regions that we are globally, you know, I take first position on fives, she takes first position on fives, so you don't need to be necessarily always on the phone, but we are, it's an iterative dialogue for us every day.

One of the things we did at the very beginning, when we started this partnership, we spent a lot of time making sure that we were aligned in terms of our priorities and our vision. And so we have that alignment and then it makes the decision making, those are start of the operationalization.

Jordan: Yeah.

But we're constantly checking in to make sure that we're aligned on vision, on where we're going, and also checking that with our entire leadership team. So it's the two of us, and we have a really great leadership team that we're always getting input from as well.
