NASA Chief: To Move Forward, Agency Is Looking Back to Its 1960s Playbook
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman spoke with Wall Street Journal reporter Micah Maidenberg at the WSJLI Technology Council Summit and said NASA is trying to “get our swagger back” by restoring the mission focus that defined the agency in the 1960s. Isaacman contrasted the five-page NASA Authorization Act of 1965 with what he described as a far broader mandate today and pointed to the agency’s pivot away from Lunar Gateway toward returning astronauts to the moon, building a lunar base and preparing for Mars.
