I started my career working for an advisor, frontline-facing, dealing with high net worth, ultra-high net worth individuals. I had the opportunity to work with a developer, automate a bunch of stuff that I was doing manually in spreadsheets, and the light bulb just went off for me. My passion got ignited. When I understood a problem, could translate what the business wanted to technologists, create a solution, operationalize that with operating people and client service people, and that's how I could have the biggest impact on the organization. So, you know, like I believe, you know, if you want a sustainable, rewarding career, you have to do something that you're genuinely

invested in. You believe in the why. Our work is purposeful. And if you get involved in it and the sparks start to fly, then I think that's the intersection where the employer has a responsibility to say, "How do we educate that person? How do we train them? How do we give them career opportunities that allow them to continue to grow?" Part of the reason I love being part of a firm that is scaling and growing is you're constantly creating new opportunities for your people. When we talk about M&A, when we talk about growth, it's not just growth to increase the top line revenue, the bottom line EBITDA. It's about, you know, increasing our ability to serve clients in an impactful way and increasing professional development opportunities for our people. And that can be, you know, growth opportunities. It could be professional diversification opportunities, but growing businesses have an abundance of those opportunities. Smaller firms, I think, sometimes struggle, because what's the next step for that super talented advisor associate? They're learning at a rapid rate, but the business is just not growing fast enough.

Right. Kinda capped to where they're capped.

Yeah, you're capped.

Yeah.

So, you know, you have to, you know, go somewhere else. So I take great pride in having an organization with a diversity of opportunities. And then you have to do a good job of really listening to your people, and then making sure you're creating opportunities for the people that wanna move forward in their career to do that. And sometimes that means letting somebody go, right? Like the opportunity set isn't there for you the way you want it. And that's okay, but I think like we wanna win the talent game. And you do that by being very clear on career paths, you know, talking to people about what's working for them, what's not. What are they interested in? I counsel a lotta younger people, and I think sometimes there's this, there's this view that I need to be on a vertical linear progression in my career. And I'm like, when you're young, try things.
