Trump’s AI Memes Spark Concern About Political Use

President Trump has been posting all sorts of AI videos poking fun at Democrats. They've been talking about the government shutdown, and some of them have even been referring to far right conspiracy theories. The video that's gotten the most attention is of Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, wearing a sombrero and a Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Nobody likes Democrats anymore. We have no voters left because of all of our woke trans bull.

Jeffries called the video racist.

Through a racist and fake AI video.

Vice President JD Vance brushed it off as simply the president having fun.

Oh, I think it's funny. The president's joking and we're having a good time.

Speaker Mike Johnson had a similar reaction and he noted that California Governor Gavin Newsom had done a similar video.

Everybody can go and review the facts for themselves.

Just ignore it. I mean, Gavin Newsom was trolling me last night. He painted me like a minion. He painted me yellow with big glasses and overalls, and I thought it was hilarious.

Politicians, in general, across the board and public figures are posting more AI Videos. The question is, when does it become harmful and when does it cross the line? He also posted a video with a fake Fox News segment with his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump doing the news segment about med beds. These beds that are sort of rumored to cure everything.

Every American will soon receive their own Med Bed card.

They've been sort of promoted by conspiracy theorists on the right, and so, you could see people thinking that it was real, but it wasn't real. And the president took down the post shortly after.

Reporter: What was he trying to communicate to the public there and why did he delete it?

I think the president saw the video and posted it and then took it down, and he has the right to do that. It's his social media. He's incredibly transparent, as you all know. You hear from him directly on social media. He likes to share memes, he likes to share videos.

It seems like a simple issue, the president using social media to poke fun at Democrats. But once you dig a little deeper there are a lot of policy questions that lawmakers in Washington are struggling to answer. And whether there should be guidelines or regulations on how the president and other politicians use that. Those are real questions that people are struggling to answer right now.
