Two-Tier Policing and the Woke Murder of Henry Nowak

Crowd: Shame on you, shame on you. Shame on you.

Angry protestors gathered outside Portswood Police station in the south of England after newly released body cam footage showed police handcuffing a teenage stabbing victim who later died. The facts of the case are appalling and the inadequate response of so much officialdom is just another example of how woke progressive politics has corrupted institutions including law enforcement in Western democracies.

It is now clear to growing millions in this country that we are living under two tier policing. The instructions that are given, two police officers from police bosses are clear and written down in ink. It says you must treat different ethnic groups in different ways.

Mr. Farage's comments were aimed at Prime Minister Keir Starmer amid the uproar over the murder of Henry Novak, a white 18-year-old university student. Mr. Novak was stabbed while walking home after a night out with friends in December last year.

He keeps dropping side to side. I'm just trying to keep him sat up.

Alright.

He's grabbed my brother. He took my turban off, so I grabbing my head.

Yeah. Yeah. I've got swollen eye. A little bruise.

Alright, step back a little bit for me.

Mr. Digwa then called the police with a fabricated story that Mr. Novak had assaulted him while using a racial slur.

You've been stabbed whereabouts? I think you have, mate.

It was on this basis that officers then handcuffed Mr. Novak as he laid dying on the ground.

Hand.

I can't breathe.

Put the hand in the cuff, mate.

Officers only administered medical aid once he passed out, at which point it was too late.

At the moment, you are under arrest. That's for assault. So you do not have to say anything. May harm a defense if you do not make your own questions.

Henry told officers that he could not breathe nine times. He told them he had been stabbed four times.

You got nothing coming mate.

The case is catapulted into the public consciousness because Mr. Digwa was sentencing on June 1st to life in prison of which he's supposed to serve at least 21 years undammed press coverage that wasn't allowed while the trial was in progress.

So this isn't the only time in the UK that there has been a policing scandal that is thematically centered on woke issues. The other prominent example is the grooming gang scandal. And that involves groups of men, often of Asian, Pakistani Muslim descent, who are running sex trafficking rings involving young, vulnerable British girls. And one of the belatedly was that police had obscured the ethnic backgrounds of the perpetrators. And part of the concern on that was not wanting caused racial division or be perceived as engaged in racist policing.

The attacks directed towards police officers in South Hampton last night were disgraceful and completely unacceptable.

Mr. Novak's death has resurface tensions that have been bubbling away for years. One being the perception which is hard to contest, that official Britain's excessive racial sensitivities are causing a breakdown in basic state competence.

There are serious questions to answer, including how accusations of racism informed police thinking.

The point being that as soon as Mr. Digwa alleged racism, the police lost the capacity for simple detection, such as determining who had at a crime scene had been assaulted and who hadn't.

I do think there is genuine concern in the UK about two-tiered policing and some of that actually derives from official guidance. I'm looking specifically at a National Police Chief's council document that's saying that our commitment to racial equality means producing equality of policing outcomes for people of different ethnic backgrounds. And then it ends up going on to clarify that that does not mean treating everyone the same. And I think you run into trouble anytime you're talking about equality of outcomes rather than equality under the law.

High concrete, high concrete.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer wants to retreat into official inquiries to avoid political accountability for policies on racism that contributed to the tragedy.

We're supporting the IOPC to get to the bottom of what happened,

And that leaves the field open to insurgent politicians like Nigel Farage.

I suggest the rest of us respond to this with pure cold rage.

Who, conservative leader Kemi Badenoch accuses of rabble-rousing.

This is a time for serious work, not rage.

Elsewhere, Elon Musk has wade into the controversy with a stream of comments on X, including reposting a Department of State message that reads "Ideological conditioning and two-tier policing, a glaring symptoms of civilizational decline. They must be rejected across the west."

I think this attention is welcome. There's a tendency in the UK to kind of paper this over with promises for official inquiries. Hope the problem goes away. And at the same time, I think it's important for the United States to view this as a cautionary tale. The UK isn't the only place that had diversity, equity, and inclusion woke models incorporated into police training.
